Buffalo Ford Wythe Va
Dec the 12th 1841

Dear Samuel
I will in haste say to you that I received your last, I will now inform you that Mr. Geo. Rosenbum will start to the College on Monday before the expiration of this Session & he will get there on Tuesday following, So that I want you to wait his arrival, as I intend to send Edmond with him with two horses for you & Wythe, We are all well

I hope that neither yourself nor Wythe were part of the no (number) that recd a public Reprimand which you speak of, you say something having been done that was right black, God forbid that either of you was Guilty of this dreadfull act you would have relieved both your mother as well as myself if you only had have said you were both out of the Scrape, I hope you are

Samuel's parents, particularly his mother, have always instructed him to be above reproach in his behavior and activities. This letter expresses how strongly his parents feel about misconduct.
